Blog

Well hello to you!

Thanks to all who have been reading my blogs and sending me messages – I really appreciate your encouragement.

If you read last week’s blog you would know that my husband & I were at a family wedding in Geelong.

It really was a beautiful day. The bride was of course stunning, the groom very handsome and the bridal party was beautiful.

However, in the lead up to the wedding I was faced with a very important decision. It was a decision that I took very seriously. I am sure you yourself have been faced with the same decision at some point in your life – perhaps even this morning?

For some it is the biggest decision you might make on any given day – I am talking none other than the life altering decision of…..WHAT DO I WEAR??

Ok, clearly this type of decision is actually not that big a deal in the whole scheme of the world, but hey let’s have some fun today!

Hand’s up who has spent time looking with total despair at their wardrobe options and let fly with the words that are naturally ingrained in a woman’s vocab – I have nothing to wear!!

We usually say these words loudly and with a hint of desperation mixed with slight anxiety, frustration and annoyance at our lack of clothing options. If you are married, your husband has learnt to recognise the seriousness of the situation and knows how to respond….move to another room where he can’t possibly be called upon to offer solutions.

It is amazing how we can get dressed one day with total confidence and then the next day we are thrust into the depths of despair (Anne of Green Gables anyone!).

So back to the wedding:

I had looked in my wardrobe and decided I had enough options and didn’t need to go shopping. I had narrowed my wedding outfits down to 3 options. I proudly told my husband to which his response was – that’s good babe!

Then two days before the wedding I was even prouder when I told my husband I had finally got it down to a choice between two outfits.  I asked him his thoughts…he proceeded with caution and said either one would be fine (good answer!)

As I was packing my suitcase, I again showed my husband what I was thinking. He pointed and said wear that outfit…a fabulous leopard print pencil skirt teamed with a layered ruffled shirt I purchased in Paris and my black ankle boots with gold trim.

Perfect choice!

However, the day before the wedding while we were on our way to Geelong I was overcome with doubt – did I make the right choice? Is it wedding appropriate? What if it looks terrible?

I was silently panicking as I had no plan B because I only packed the one outfit!

The day of the wedding arrived and after a slight stocking disaster  (should’ve checked for holes earlier…..luckily on that one I did actually pack 2 pairs),  I got myself dressed, popped on some red lippy and with clutch in hand looked in the mirror and added the finishing touch – confidence!

Moral of the story is this: Don’t worry about what is in your wardrobe because the most important thing you can wear everyday is confidence!

So friends have a fun and fashionable day and whatever you wear – wear it with confidence!

Natt xx

ps –  this was my wedding outfit!
