So, apparently spring has sprung – the only problem is I think someone forgot to tell spring!

As I look out my window it looks more like a bleak winter’s day.

It is cold, raining and snow is forecast.

Spring wake up!!

Like many of you, I love spring and I love all that this season has to offer…

Sun & warmth, blossoms & beautiful blooms, picnics & bike rides and blue n white stripe tops!

There are things however I don’t particularly fancy about spring such as magpies & …no mainly just magpies.

Wouldn’t spring be so much better without magpies?

I mean, imagine a world where we could walk without fear of a cranky black n white bird attacking our ears!

But this is the thing about a new season – as much as it inspires us to have a fresh outlook and offers new opportunities, there are still challenges.

You can’t have one without the other, just like we can’t have spring without magpies.

Quite often I think we put pressure on ourselves to have a perfect world where opportunities abound and challenges don’t exist. This is unrealistic and can set us up to fail or feel bad when challenge comes.

So am I saying let’s not look forward to the joy of spring and the new season with all the beautiful possibilities?

NO!!!

I am saying embrace this new season, throw open the doors and let the fresh air in. Clear out the winter chills and position yourself in the sun. Do a spring clean on your mind, heart and soul – just don’t be surprised that magpies might just be around the corner!

Don’t shrink back from your new season, stand up and step forward. But you will need to do it with courage, strength and confidence – cos every now and then, even in this beautiful season, there may be a little challenge you need to brush off and overcome.

Till next time – enjoy a walk in the sun and watch out for those magpies!

Natt xx
